Submission to Scottish Affairs Committee on the Future of the Oil & Gas Industry

Our submission to the Westminster Scottish Affairs Committee Inquiry on the Future of the Oil and Gas Industry. Our key points are:

• the most important challenge for the oil and gas industry is how it can adapt and respond constructively to the requirement to stop burning fossil fuels in order to avoid catastrophic consequences of climate change; and,
• that a Just Transition is required in order to ensure that we make an orderly shift to a net-zero emissions economy in ways which protect employment and the contribution which energy companies make to our economy.
