Last weekend Friends of the Earth Scotland had a stall at T in the Park Festival in Balado, Kinross-Shire.
T in the Park is working hard to be as green as possible, and this year it created an amazing new area called The Eco Village as an extension of the already existing Healthy T area.
We are delighted to have taken part of this huge step for the festival, and had a great time promoting our ‘Access to Justice’
By Friday afternoon we were all set, welcoming lots of people to join us and even though rain was pouring down, our spirits where high. We had different activities such as envelope making and pot making using compost. We also had lots of freebies such as energy efficient light bulbs and CDs of the amazingly talented Daisy Haggard.Our lovely penguin Penny Ann Tarctica was also out and about in the Eco Village, attracting people to our stall. Our amazing volunteers did a fantastic job and were out and about, in rain and shine, talking to people and got around 735 signatures!
Going to T in the Park was a great success for Friends of the Earth Scotland and we are really thankful for their support. ‘T in the Parkers’ were all feeling the ‘Penguin Love’ and generally showed full support for our campaign. Some people were shocked to hear how hard it is at the moment to stand up for our environment, and showed a great support and congratulated us for our work.
We are very happy to have had the opportunity to attend T in the Park and tell people about what we do and how they can help. We are looking forward to the festival becoming a regular date in our diary!
