We’re turning 40!

In 2018, Friends of the Earth Scotland is celebrating 40 years of taking action for an environmentally sustainable and socially just world, in Scotland and globally. We have:

  • Forced Forth Energy to pull its plan for a big biomass power station in Leith
  • Dumped old fridges on the steps of Scottish Office to call for a stronger energy efficiency regulations
  • Successfully campaigned for the Scottish Climate Act, a leading piece of climate legislation
  • Led calls for Scotland’s Freedom of Information regulations

Were you involved in any of these or other early campaigns? If you have memories from the early days of Friends of the Earth Scotland, we want to hear from you! We are collating stories to share as part of our 40th anniversary celebrations in 2018. Send us an email with the title “FoES 40th”!
