Figures released by the Scottish Government this week (9 June) show that Scotland’s carbon footprint has increased 1.6% from 2021 to 2022.

The figures showed just 1.0% reduction in climate pollution, well below the previous legal targets to cut emissions.

The youth-led hustings in Edinburgh on Wed 22 April will be livestreamed nationwide with questions limited to people under 30 years old.

Despite the warnings, advice and numerous examples of its failure, Scottish Ministers built their entire Climate Plan on the rotten foundations of dodgy carbon capture.

Global temperatures from the past three years had all breached agreed warming levels of 1.5C.

This decision by the Scottish Government condemns people to cold homes, high bills and ill health for even longer.

People are coming out to show that a better world is possible and that there is the energy and enthusiasm to make that happen.

The plan will barely scratch the surface on climate emissions in the coming years.
