Commenting on the opening today of Europe’s biggest onshore wind farm – Whitelee Wind Farm in East Renfrewshire, Scotland – Friends of the Earth Scotland’s Chief Executive, Duncan McLaren said:
 
“We are delighted that Scotland is now home to Europe’s biggest onshore wind farm – Whitelee will power tens of thousands of homes.
 
“More projects like this are needed – on and offshore – to slash Scotland’s greenhouse gas emissions and create thousands of green jobs.
 
“Scotland’s renewable energy potential is enormous. Making us a world leader in developing a green future must be a top priority.”
