Circular Economy Bill – consultation response

Friends of the Earth Scotland welcomes the introduction of the Circular Economy Bill as a crucial opportunity to make Scotland’s resource use fair and sustainable by 2045.

However, the draft Bill must be substantially strengthened to achieve the stated aim of the Scottish Government to introduce “measures that require primary legislation to transition to a circular economy and modernise Scotland’s waste and recycling services” and to develop fair and sustainable resource use in Scotland.
