Our response to the Low Emission Zone regulation consultation.

Friends of the Earth Scotland’s response to the Scottish Government’s consultation on Low Emission Zones regulations, including penalties, exemptions, and objectives of the zones.

This consultation is important because the regulations can ensure:

• Penalties for breaking LEZ rules genuinely change behaviour.
• Any penalty funds are spent by Councils on sustainable transport.
• Emergency vehicles and Blue Badge scheme vehicles are exempt.
• All road users will be consulted on LEZ plans, not just drivers.
