Our Power: Research methodology and lessons learned briefing

Our Power’s methodology and lessons learned briefing is a guide for other organisations who are interested in learning how we spoke with offshore oil and gas workers and what it might look like to replicate the process with a different workforce or in a different region.

The briefing includes an overview of campaigning work and outreach we’d done alongside Platform before beginning the workshops for Our Power, including the campaigning strategies that did and did not work for us.

It also includes an overview of the workshops themselves, the methodology we used and the structures we put in place to mitigate for things like organisational influence on offshore workers’ discussions.

The briefing ends with a section on lessons learned and the campaigners’ reflections on what worked well and what didn’t work well, to help organisations working on just transition campaigns to learn from our successes and mistakes.
