In August 2025, governments around the world will be meeting in Geneva with the aim of agreeing a Global Plastics Treaty – an international agreement to work together to end plastic pollution.

As the damage that plastic does to our health and to nature becomes clearer, the need for a unified solution grows. Plans which can truly reduce this harm require global commitments, but many of the actions needed to combat the plastics crisis must happen at a more local level.
