Ahead of the Scottish Parliament elections in May, Friends of the Earth Scotland is asking candidates and parties to support policies that would transform our economy, tackling the climate emergency and creating green jobs.

This page contains a short summary of these ideas across 4 key areas:
• Launching a publicly-owned renewable energy company, generating power
• Time for Scotland to go fossil fuel free
• Free bus travel, on publicly owned buses
• Putting people and climate action at the heart of decisions about the economy

Last year, when parties were writing their manifestos, we sent a longer set of policies – spanning everything from transport to waste –  to all the parties who won seats at the last Scottish Parliament elections. This longers document sets out the key policies we wanted them to address in their own manifestos.

You can find out more about our election campaign here, including a ways to ask your candidates to support these policies
