Fundraising guidelines and responsibilities
Thank you for choosing to raise funds in support of our work. These guidelines make sure your fundraising is safe, legal and aligned with the law, including the Fundraising Regulator’s Code of Fundraising Practice.
As a community fundraiser, you agree to:
Make it clear you are fundraising in support of our organisation (for example by using the phrase “Raising funds for Friends of the Earth Scotland”)
Fundraise in an open, honest and respectful way
Be aged 18 or over, or if under 18, take part only with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian
Ensure that any money donated via sponsor forms or by cheque comes from someone aged 18 or over
Follow all relevant laws and regulations
Use online fundraising where possible, as it is more secure, cost-effective and ensures more of each donation goes directly to our work
If collecting cash or offline donations, use safe and traceable methods
Ensure your activity is safe for everyone involved
Get any licences or permissions needed for raffles, public collections, events or use of public spaces
Follow food hygiene standards if you are serving or selling food
Keep any personal information secure and only use it for the purpose it was given
Our responsbilities
In return, we will:
Provide wording, logos and materials for your fundraising
Offer guidance, tools and fundraising resources
Support you in setting up an online fundraising page
Provide advice to help ensure your fundraising is safe, legal and successful
