All Friends of the Earth Scotland members are warmly invited to our National Gathering and AGM in Glasgow, on Saturday 13 June 2026.

You can join us at Adelaide Place, 209 Bath Street, Glasgow, G2 4HZ, or online via video link. The timetable for the day is as follows:

2-2.30pm  Welcome with tea and coffee

2.30-3.30pm  Celebrating successes and sharing challenges

3.30-5.30pm Motions, reports and elections

5.30-6.30pm Dinner

7pm International solidarity fundraising gig (more info to come!)

This event is a chance to meet our board members and staff, learn more about our campaigns and build connections with other members. We will also elect new board members and vote on motions.

Friends of the Earth Scotland is a democratic, grassroots organisation and the AGM is a key moment for members to influence our direction.

After the day’s business, we’ll move into a night of music, poetry, and global solidarity raising funds for the Friends of the Earth International Solidarity Fund, which provides rapid support to communities defending land, territories, and environmental rights around the world.

This is a member only event. If you are not yet a member and would like to attend, you can sign up here.

Putting forward a motion

Putting forward a motion is a way to have a policy or issue you care about debated by the members of Friends of the Earth Scotland. Past motions have led to Friends of the Earth Scotland backing new approaches and tactics, joining coalition campaigns, and offering solidarity with global struggles.

Any member can raise a motion, which must then be seconded by another member. If you have a motion you would like to raise, but you don’t know another member willing to second this, please contact us as we may be able to help.

Your motion will be available for members to read ahead of the AGM and members may submit amendments at this time as well.

At the AGM you will be asked to say a little bit about why you believe it is important for Friends of the Earth Scotland to adopt your motion. This will be followed by a short debate and a vote.

Agreed motions will then be used to shape the work of Friends of the Earth Scotland.

If you would like to submit a motion, please fill in this form and email it to agm@foe.scot. The deadline for submitting motions for this year’s AGM is Friday 22nd May.

Electing board members

You are also invited to stand for our election to our board, hear from current board members, and vote in the elections. The board are responsible for the governance of Friends of the Earth Scotland, and have a key role in ensuring that our work is accountable to the movement and our members. To run you need to be nominated by two other members. If you would be interested in finding out more about running for the board get in touch at agm@foe.scot. The board is particularly looking for a new secretary this year.

To nominate a board member, please fill in this form and send it to agm@foe.scot. The deadline for nominating trustees for the board will be Saturday 30th May
